Noor, an ancient Hebrew text meaning "Flame" or "Light"focuses on Euro-Israeli flavors. A modern take on Mediterranean cuisine inspired by Levinsky Market in Tel Aviv, the European Hamara atmosphere can be felt in Noor Modern Mediterranean Restaurant located at Forbeswood Heights, Forbestown Road, Taguig.

Chef Or also mentioned it was challenging to find quality ingredients that are fairly affordable, since our country tends to a more expensive prices when it comes to produce. He certainly didn’t want to make his homegrown recipes differ its quality.

Chef Or in action.
Cauliflower (Php 350) Deep fried cauliflower mixed in caesar aioli sauce. A healthy delight! What I like about their way of cooking is they make boring veggies more flavorful and tastier.

Moroccan Shrimps (Php 470) sautéed shrimp with Tzatziki or tarator sauce that is made out of strained yogurt combined with olive oil, garlic, salt and herbs with lemon juice. It was a light and surprisingly mellow sauce. It also comes with Charred Eggplant which added another depth to the dish.

Lamb Baklava (Php 460) We are used to the sweet or dessert like serving of this dish. But Chef Or said it can also have a savory taste to it. He used lamb bits topped with Sesame Dressing and Raspberry Sauce. An interesting taste cause it compliments the taste not overpower one another.

Chicken Thigh (Php 620) Huge serving that is good for two people. Chicken skewers mixed with Paprika Honet Marinade grilled to perfection and Syrian Rice combination of lentils, long grain rice specifically syrian rice grains mixed with herbs and spices.

To cap off our meal we had Knafe (Php 390), made out of shredded phyllo pastry, white cheese (found in the middle) and butter topped with vanilla ice cream. It wasn’t too sweet but the different textures played well in my mouth.

We also got to try their cocktails: Noor and Cuban Beehive. They used local ingredients and well love liquor - which they’ve made a blend of their own. I personally like the Cuban Beehive cause it was sour yet sweet a good combination of flavors.

I have to admit their prices were a bit pricey but for the experience and quality of food, I don't mind coming back again and trying their other dishes. I look forward to visit their restaurant in the evening since it has a different vibe from their lunch and afternoon a
