What do you think of when you hear "205"? What cuisine comes into mind? This air of mystery surely helped them gain some curiosity for potential customers or soon to be patrons. 205 basically serves comfort food and kick-ass traditional cocktails under one roof.  205 opened in September this year and they've certainly gained repeat clientele.

We were welcomed by the owners of the restaurant Denise Cabotage and Engle Martinez. They wanted to open a place where people can simply chill, eat delicious food and drink authentic and beloved cocktails any time of the day. They make sure to source ingredients locally and help local suppliers at the same time. 

One of the first dishes they served was Fried Mozzarella (Php 280). Who doesn't love fried mozzarella? Huge slices of mozzarella deep fried until perfectly golden brown, comes with aioli dip.

Includes gouda, cheddar, blue cheese, mozzarella, dark chocolate bits, pistachio, walnuts, grapes, olives, sultanas and of course Prosciutto. Order a bottle of wine and it's going to be a fun afternoon with friends. This platter can be perfect pica pica for their cocktails too.

Under their BREAKFAST menu we got to try Beef Tapa (Php 280) and Continental Breakfast (Php 360). Definition of breakfast of champions. Both came with garlic rice and two eggs (you can request on how you want your eggs cooked). I found the bacon too tough though but we took some time taking photo so it affected the quality of the meat.

We also tried their pizzas: 4 Cheese Pizza (Php 480) and Breakfast Pizza (Php 420). When it comes to pizzas for me it is important to have even distribution of ingredients on the whole dough. Flavors was there but wished the toppings wasn't mostly in the middle.

These dishes came with french fries that tasted like KFC's fries and it was divine. We couldn't help munch on it. Steak Sandwich (Php 520) they used this baguette that was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, it was just heavenly. Steak slices was tender and succulent too plus the caramelized onions added flavor to the sandwich. Chicken Milanese (Php 350) juicy chicken breast with salad and fries. Probably one of their healthier dishes on their menu, according to Engle.

Mushroom Risotto (Php 375)
A favorite of mine. It was creamy, buttery and flavorful. Using porcini mushrooms it added more bite to the dish. Love this! 

Now moving to cocktails. They pride themselves in providing the most traditional way of making these cherished mixed drinks. Signature Cocktails costs around Php 450 each and Regular Cocktails for Php 350 each. You can make your own drink ask the server or bartender to know more about it. They'll ask your mood and preferred alcohol before making one. Think of the bartender as you best friend you can be honest with. 😁 I got to try the cocktail below and they've really stayed true to its taste. Bravo!

Prices for some of their food are fairly acceptable given that it is situated at a prime location. I'd definitely come back for their Mushroom Risotto and Steak Sandwich. The place is also perfect for afternoon drinks with fellow titos and titas of Manila.
