A Visit to Manna & Golde

A Visit to Manna & Golde

Amidst this unlikely location where Filipino calenderya-ish establishments can be found along Kamuning Road. There is a quaint and cheery café that certainly stands out. It has white walls with bright colored pastel accents and some greenery pieces around the room. You can’t help but feel relax and get a sense of comfort just being inside this space. This family owned restaurant assigned each member of the family a task to make this concept into reality.

It’s name - Manna and Golde came from the Bible that signifies the “needs and wants” of individuals which was inspired by their family's deep religious beliefs.

Master Barista Dave Dource
This café serves comfort food, desserts and a selection of 3rd wave coffee brews with their custom blend which is proudly only served in their café. This blend was meticulously chosen to both cater to bold and mild palate of coffee goers in the area.

This venue also offers mini-workshops on how to make your own coffee using espresso machines and can be requested to scheduled if you are thinking of exploring a coffee shop business. Master Barista Dave Dource demonstrated one during our visit, the basics of espresso machine (specifically Breville brand) from parts of the machine to cleaning the machine for the next brew.

Espresso

Cappuccino
Cafe Latte

Cafe Mocha Shake

He also taught us how to make coffee like espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino and cafe mocha. He also did some coffee art which was amazing and I'm pretty sure it took him months even years to master.

After the coffee demo, we got to try some of their dishes:

I really enjoyed their soups. I could imagine eating during raining days and times I'm feeling under the weather. Could use some salt and pepper for their Roasted Garlic Soup.

Roast Garlic Soup with Poached Egg (Php 120) and Chicken Noodle Soup (Php 135)

Their pasta sauces are light and not overwhelming. Plus who doesn't enjoy generous meat portions. Huge chicken fillet and bacon bits?

Cheesy Chicken Parmigiana (Php 235) and Classic Carbonara (Php 230)

Fully Loaded Sandwich (PHP205)

Ideal an on-the-go snack with cheese, chicken strips and veggies. It could use more filling most especially the chicken. But a filling sandwich that's for sure.

If you are in the area, visit them and try their coffees which are sweet and smooth with a hint of chocolate. They welcome students and customers who are looking for a place to work, study or hangout since they offer free high-speed internet, cozy ambiance and good food.
