We were invited as audience for cooking demonstration held by the shows resident chefs in an afternoon filled with inspiring dishes anyone can do in the comfort of their home. I had to leave early but Kevin (thank you again) from EatsaSmallWolrd helped me out with some of the photos.

Cook pata tim at home!

3/4 cup light soy sauce
2 pc star anise
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup sherry or cooking wine
8 pc shiitake mushrooms
water enough to cover pata
2 pc bok choy, blanched (for garnish)

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stockpot. Cook over high heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Lower heat to simmering and continue to cook until pata is fork tender, about 4 hours. Add water if necessary. Adjust seasonings as needed. Garnish with bok choy, if desired.

Makes 6 servings.

Here are some of the other dishes they also demonstrated that you might see on June 11.

Don't forget to watch on GMA 7 every Monday to Friday after Unang Hirit.

Check out some their recipes too.
