Asian Flavors at Red Ginger

Asian Flavors at Red Ginger

City of Dreams offers a wide array of restaurants to satisfy everyone's appetite and level of hunger. Inspired by the flavors of other Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and other Southeast Asia countries. They've created dishes that take you out of the country through your senses and taking you on a cuisine adventure.

Red Ginger is situated on the upper floor of their casino area. At the entrance turn right where you'll see an escalator going to the upper floor where Jing Ting and O Kitchen. It's the first restaurant to your right. Fitting since it is operating 24 hours and a perfect place to have late dinner or early breakfast for those staying at NÜWA or casino.

Vietnamese “Caesar” Salad (Php 270)
Romaine Lettuce, parmesan cheese, garlic crouton and soft poached egg.

Popiah (Php 420)
Enjoyed this appetizer/salad dish. It is crispy fried bbq duck spring roll with Iceberg Lettuce Chili Garlic Dipping and iceberg lettuce. Wrap the spring roll with lettuce. It added additional texture to the spring roll. You have to try it.

Mamak Style Lamb Biryani (Php 620)
Basmati rice that has been spiced with pineapple chutney, lamb and crispy, thin - papadam.

Nasi Lemak Lobster (Php 1,380)
Fragrant Coconut Rice served with Sambal lobster, hard-boiled egg, sliced cucumber, crispy anchovy and peanuts. It kind lacked the sour flavor of tamarind for the lobster. I found it a bit bland.

Satay Platte (Php 950)

Coconut Glazed Pork Satay, Prawn & Salmon Satay, Tofu Satay, Chicken Satay and Coriander Spiced Beef Satay with peanut sauce.

Charcoal Grill
Lemongrass & Rosemary Chicken (Php 420), Spiced 200gm Blue Marlin Fillet with Assam Butter (Php 780) and Honey & Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly (Php 460). I personally liked their blue marlin fillet, I liked it's buttery taste.

Char Kway Teow (Php 440)
Flat rice noodle fried in a wok pan topped with bean sprout, air dried lip cheong sausage, sambal balachan and fish cake.

Dessert Platter Sampler (Pandan Coconut Crepes Roll, Iced Avocado Condensada and Mango Sticky Rice)
It was suggested to eat it starting with Mango Sticky Rice (Php 250) then Pandan Coconut Crepes Roll (Php 300) and Iced Avocado Condensada (Php 280). Which the sweetness level increases per serving.

The Egg (Php 240)

I fell in love with this dessert. Love the silky coconut custard with a hint of sweetness from mango yolk and drizzled with palm sugar syrup. It wasn't overly sweet, just the right amount of sweetness.

I was looking for that oomph for some of the dishes since I've been to these Southeast Asian countries and tasted some of the dishes they were serving that afternoon. Like in Malaysia the flavors are intense and you can immediately taste right away, example the nasi lemak I was looking forward to the spiciness of the dish that I didn't get to taste while eating it. But I still enjoyed some of the dishes which I suggest you try when you visit this restaurant most especially their famous The Egg dessert which is recognized as one of the best desserts by Inquirer.
