Uma Uma Ramen

Uma Uma Ramen
With 60 years of ramen making experience, Uma Uma Ramen established in 1953 in Fukuoka, Japan its name stems from “Wu Maru”. The son and currently president, Masahiko Tashima, renamed “Wu Maru” to “Uma Uma Ramen” in 1994 a pun on the Japanese word for “tasty”.

Uma Uma offers 100% MSG free and pure umami. It’s broth made from pork bones that were cooked with over high heat between 10-12 hours giving the soup robust flavors of the broth through hours of cooking cause of this process there is no need for MSG to enhance its flavors.

It is no wondered my sister wanted to celebrate her birthday here. She was craving for ramen and wanted to try this out. She booked through Eatigo and got 20% discount on regular meals. Not including their seafood limited time offer dishes. We had each ordered our own food but I was able to take photos of theirs before we consumed our respective dishes.

Takoyaki (Php 220)
Uma Uma Ramen (Php 370)

Spicy Chasu Ramen (Php 390)
Maze Soba with Chasiu (Php 390)
These are the appetizers and main dish I got to try.

Gyoza (Php 190)
They call this bite size gyoza. It was adorable! It is not the usual gyoza size I've been accustomed too. I like how crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Kaarage (Php 250)
I was overwhelmed with the seasoning they used, yes it was crispy but it was overkill for the umami flavoring they used.

Chasiu Don (Php 250)
I wasn’t in the mood for ramen so I ordered this rice bowl instead. The meat was tender and I liked the sweet light sauce they used. Chasui  Love the hoisin, honey and soy sauce for the pork belly. It certainly made it juicy and tender.

OVERALL: For me the rice bowl was good for Php 250. I asked my sister what she thinks about the ramen (Uma Uma Ramen) "I think it was good, but it isn’t the best. It’s like eating chicken from McDonald’s when you’re craving Chickenjoy from Jollibee. It’s not disappointing. It’s just okay." We probably go back for the gyoza or rice bowl but not so much for the ramen.
