Botejyu now open in Ayala Malls Vertis North

Botejyu now open in Ayala Malls Vertis North

Born in Tamade, Osaka in 1946, Botejyu, Japan’s Okonomiyaki Pioneer and Premier Specialty Restaurant Chain, opens it’s 5th Philippine branch at Ayala Malls Vertis North. In 2016, Viva International Food and Restaurants Inc., headed by Vic del Rosario opened the Philippine branches of Botejyu in SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall.Since then Filipinos have been enjoying authentic Japanese cuisine, okonomiyaki as well as oko soba dishes, all star takoyaki, amiyaki grilled pork donburi, garlic chicken karaage and so much more. Because of it’s success, the 5th Botejyu outlet at Level 4 Japan Town, Ayala Mall Vertis North opened last January.

Japan boasts of 70 Botejyu restaurants and in addition other Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam also enjoy this premier specialty restaurant chain. Botejyu originates from the Japanese onomatopoeia of sound “bote” (flipping of okonomiyaki) and sizzling sound “jyu” (cooked in hot teppan griddle).

Botejyu first introduced flavoring okonomiyaki with mayonnaise and combining okonomiyaki and yakisoba (okosoba or modern yaki). It had expanded its local specialty gourmet dishes such as the number 1 karaage in Oita Prefecture, Japan and the famous chicken ramen from Kyoto, Japan.

We were thrilled to enjoy several of their bestsellers and dishes that made them stood out.

Mentaiko and Potato Mochiyaki (Php  270)
One of the most surprisingly good dishes, it's simple since it's string potato fries on top of gouda cheese and Hakata spicy cod roe. This was such an additive starter.

Takoyaki All-Star (Php 245)
Takoyaki balls topped with various sauces. Great for people who likes to explore flavors in one order. You'll get: salt garlic sauce, spicy mentai mayo, thick spicy sauce, umami sauce and Japanese mayo with Katsuobushi.

Botejyu aims to provide their customer with new dishes to enjoy and widen their scrumptious selection. They make sure to keep their patrons on their toes.

They'll be releasing these NEW DISHES soon:

Shrimp Teppan Rice Bowls
Sautéed in garlic and butter. Add lemon to it and it's one heavenly dish. They left the shrimp' out layer on that gave it more crunch and texture and it's soft on the inside.

Hamburger Steak with Mushroom Gravy
I've tasted a dish like this in Kyoto and it reminded me on how Japanese like to incorporate Western flavors to their cuisine. I liked how creamy the sauce was that I had to mix it with rice (which is included with this dish) and the beef patty grilled to perfectly.

Beef Teppan
Stir-fried beef in garlic and herbs. Tender beef with rice and salad.

Botejyu stores in the Philippines: SM Mall of Asia (GF North Wing Entertainment Mall near IMAX), SM Atrium, Robinsons Galleria (2nd Level Veranda) and Agala Malls Vertis North.

OVERALL: Botejyu 's deletable selection of Japanese dishes did certainly satisfy my Japanese cuisine cravings. Looking forward to see what they'll add on their menu in the future.
