Nikkei’s third branch is located at the ground floor of One Rockwell in Makati and they also have branches in Podium and Rada Street in Makati. Chef Juan Barcos he worked in different Peruvian restaurants back in Peru then he met a Japanese chef who taught him Japanese techniques and combined it with Peruvian dishes and methods. This combination creates scrumptious recipes that merged two cultures together.

Chef Juan Barcos

Look at that beautiful salmon

At first he wanted to open a Peruvian restaurant in Metro Manila and since majority of Filipinos love Japanese cuisine he decided to combine both into one. His knowledge for these cuisines enabled him to create dishes that delectable to the Filipino palate. Using only the best ingredients and raw materials in the market for the dishes they serve in the establishment.

Pomelito (Php 225)
Thinly sliced tuna topped with caramelized sunflower seeds, passion fruit, mango and of course pomelo. It's light yet deliciously refreshing. A new dish under TIRADITOS menu.

Tuna Latke (Php 320)
Lightly seared tuna on top of golden brown potato strings with huancaina sauce. I have to say the combination of the two was surprisingly good.

Nikkei offers Brunch Set menus available from 11:30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. These meals come with miso soup.

Nikkei Benedict (Php 480)
Poached eggs drizzled with hollandaise sauce on top of fried potato strings, tuna and steamed bun plus sautéed prawns on the side.

Seabass Katsu Set (Php 495)
New dish under Nikkei Brunch Set. It's the first time I tried seabass katsu the taste was clean and peerless.

Fideo Saltado (Php 595)
Their first pasta dish. I love the light flavor of this this

Classic Ceviche (Php 320)
Marinated white fish - rocoto topped with red onions and cilantro with fried glazed sweet potato and canchita.

Ebi Furai (Php 295/5pcs - Php545/10pcs)
Fried prawns, white fish, avocado and togarashi rolled into one. Drizzled with ceviche sauce.

Seared Tuna with Sea Urchin Risotto (Php 680)
Perfection in a plate. Slightly seared tuna on top of creamy sea uni risotto. A must try dish!

Picarones (Php 380)
Fried sweet potato mixed with cinnamon. It includes maple syrup and their own recipe ice cream.

If you want quality Peruvian-Japanese dishes it's a restaurant you might want to try out. All of the dishes we tried were well-executed and soul-satisfying most especially their Uni Risotto. Of course, ready to spend for it - Php 1,600 for two.
